I think both sides of the aisle are handling the dialogue on the treatment of women in the wrong way.

On the left, of course, we are seeing a case where almost any interaction with a male that a woman does not like can now be labeled some type of sexual abuse or harassment.  In fact, some on the left seem to see all men as complicit in abuse of women (kind of like how some on the right see all Muslims as potential terrorists, but that's another story).

At the same time, many on the right are acting as if there is no problem.  Some on the right have actually taken the position of defending our hedonistic culture.  That's right, feminists are becoming puritanical and those on the right are defending hedonism... Cheesy

But forget left and right and lets look at this from a Christian perspective.  Clearly there is a problem with male/female interactions even if not on the level the feminists claim.  The feminists are also right in believing that something needs to change, however, they will never propose the correct solution.

You see, we in the West did used to have a code of behavior for male/female relations.  This code was called chivalry, and was practiced at some level by all classes in society.  But the important thing here is that the basis of chivalry was spiritual.  That's right, chivalry was no mere PC code of conduct but was based on a fundamentally Christian understanding of the duties men and women have to each other.

So, over the last two centuries the left has worked its hardest to debunk all traditional values, including chivalry, and by 2017 we have arrived at the point where the old values are almost completely destroyed....and what do we find out?  We find that, without chivalry, we are having problems in interactions between men and women.  How about that?

Like I said, the feminists are right in saying there is a problem, but as I also said they will never come up with a fitting solution precisely for this reason: you cannot substitute political values for spiritual values.  Period.  It cannot be done.

You cannot substitute merely political speech codes or conduct codes for a spiritual system like chivalry and attempts to do so just worsen the problem.

The political cannot be substituted for the spiritual: we either revive chivalry or we see a continued distancing of the sexes from each other.

It is, or should be a natural instinct for a man to want to lead, protect and encourage the womenfolk in his life.
But we live in a day where men and women are doing their best to defy nature.
