The role of women in church

I am thinking about this topic now after a mass I attended today where basically women and girls ran the show (of course, the priest and deacon were men).

This post is not about Catholics in particular though, but about how feminism is affecting all the churches.

Back to the mass today, it was a Veterans Day Mass and the children from an adjoining Catholic school ran the mass.  Probably 11-12 students either spoke or sang at some point: all were girls.  The altar servers were girls.  The adult officiants who helped the priest serve communion were all old ladies.

Heck, lets just make the priest a woman too and call it even, right?

Then this afternoon my wife was applying for a professorship at a Lutheran college, I look up the campus church, sure enough, there are two reverends and one of them is a woman.

I could go on, but it is clear women are playing a more active role in the running of church services than ever before, in probably all Western Christian denominations.

So what is the problem?

Precisely this: girls and women will follow male leaders, but boys and men are far less inclined to follow female leaders or to want to engage in activities perceived as feminine.  We all know this: the biggest insult for young boys is to be told they are doing something "like a girl."  Boys quite naturally avoid activities perceived as feminine.

So, as more women lead in a church the natural tendency is for men and boys to opt out, become disinterested, etc.

Furthermore, the way women talk about and experience religion often doesn't appeal to men. Women, for the most part, experience religion emotionally. Such a "soft" religion does not appeal to men, or at least it must be leavened with associated, 'harder' masculine elements.

Men need a certain masculine hardness, including a rigorous theology. Women don't think this way, therefore, few if any female preachers are going to be able to "feed" the male soul with the vigor with which it needs fed.  Our minds don't work the same.

As I said, history shows there is no problem in the opposite direction.  Men have led churches for centuries and women still showed up.  So why now, do we need women to lead?  Obviously we don't.  This is just another example of equalitarian insanity.

Maybe the problem is that people are looking for religion to serve God.  There is nothing in the Bible about religion

Women preachers, sodomite preachers just symptoms of an apostate, rebellious Church.

Thanks for the OP Frank.  It's quite enlightening.   I never knew that such bubbles existed.
