GOP Lamakers tell AG Sessions to do his job. Probe Clinton-Comey, or resign!

Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Matt Gaetz of Florida said questions are piling up over the way Mr. Comey conducted the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s secret emails and the FBI’s treatment of an anti-Trump dossier.

“It’s time for Jeff Sessions to name a Special Counsel and get answers for the American people. If not, he should step down,” the congressmen said in a piece for FoxNews.com.
They said Mr. Comey’s decision to draft an exoneration letter regarding Mrs. Clinton months before the end of the investigation, and well before the FBI talked to her, was troubling.

So, they said, was Mr. Comey’s handling of the anti-Trump dossier. They said if it was so concerning, the director should have briefed the president-elect well before the Jan. 6 briefing Mr. Comey delivered.

And the congressmen said the 2010 deal that saw the U.S. approve sale of uranium to Russian interests demands a more thorough  investigation, saying it calls into question the independence of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is probing Trump campaign figures’ work with Russia.

Jeff Sessions isn't a bad man, but he is so used to life as a beleaguered Republican Politician that he instinctively watches out as best he can for his own political ass.  The Media and the rest of the Democrats in the Obstruct/Resist Movement keep his feet to the fire by successfully intimidating him from involving himself directly in the line of their fire!

Hot Dog!  I always wondered why the new sheriff didn't take up the case since it's abundantly CLEAR to any objective observer that Hils is guilty as sin and deserving of the death penalty.  (Not an overstatement - we  have one poster who asserted as much based on his personal and intimate knowledge of the law with regard to top secret clearances.)  Let's wath this develop while we watch Moore pursue legal action against these "lying women."

If Donald Trump couldn't get Sessions to resign, what makes these GOP congressionals think they can get him to do it?

And calls for resignation are questionable, given all Sessions has done for the party and the president.

The President is out of line in calling for the Attorney General to resign or investigate someone.  (Trump is not the first President to step out of line this way; Obama went so far a making speeches which announced his desired outcome of 'matters' and proudly stated on numerous occasions that he had instructed the DOJ to look into certain matters).  Trump may Fire the Attorney General or any other member of the Executive Branch, but unless he is willing to take this action, he needs to allow Congress to do their job.

As part of Congress' constitutional oversight responsibilities, it is perfectly within the purview of Congress to call upon the Attorney General to do his job.  The President is well within his rights requesting Congress to look into matters, as he has done.

They don't want him to resign.  They want him to gather evidence on Clinton and if enough is found, prosecute.  The fact that numerous investigations and gatherings have not produced enough evidence to prosecute does not matter to those who KNOW she's guilty.  Nor to me.  I say dig away.  Create a separate agency staffed only with Clinton haters to do it.  Let Seawolf be their consultant on violations of top secret stuff so we know they'll do it right.  Bow up and make it happen.  And if they can find enough to prosecute, have at it.

a simple google gave me this gem.. (we've all heard his speeches where he bragged about instructing his DOJ and FBI to do this and that)

typical Obama rhetoric....

"   “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs.  Our focus must be on those who break the law.”

“I have raised these issues with the attorney general, who shares my concern. So he has agreed to review existing Department of Justice guidelines governing investigations that involve reporters, and will convene a group of media organizations to hear their concerns as part of that review. And I have directed the attorney general to report back to me by July 12th.”

You left out the part of Obama's collusion with the AG...
