I don't often go to Church.

Went on Sunday last, suit/Regimental tie/medals.

The Rector gave a very good sermon.

My boy was in the pew next to me. He couldn't quite believe it when the list of dead from our village (over thirty) for WW 1 was read out. Some surnames from his school. Then WW2, only 14, some of the same names.

When the Rector mentioned that the total British dead of WWl was over 880,000 he started crying

The question was, from him not me, why did all those Christians kill each other?

Under Communism, it's the exact opposite.

Why, indeed.  This might answer for some of them:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+7%3A21-23&version=KJV

and this for others:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+6:21

Even for those who really believe, Jesus is often a distant second place to worldly things.

I am impressed your son cried.  Don't know his age, but few adults cry at a stat like that.  I can't think of ever seeing anyone do it, in fact, regardless of age.

He's 12, by a few days.
