this case is about the baker violating the CO. Anti-Discrimination Act, which he clearly did.
as for the 1st amendment right I'd suggest reading up on the Piggy Park case.

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing what this Robert's Court will do!  They have seemed to be so Hell bent on promoting diversity and political correctness that the majority often creates new "rights" even at the expense of the loss of rights of others, even if this means ignoring the Constitution! It's a matter of wanting to please everyone and only pissing off everyone. by doing so! They've been weak kneed and mealy mouthed to the point sometimes one has to wonder what sort of blackmail does Obama and his gang have on Roberts, anyway!

This is so clear to me.  Everyone is able to live by their own deeply held beliefs, as long as they don't actively interfere with the same right others have.  This case is akin to an islamofascist making someone worship the right branch of islam or pay the penalty.  We have actual devil worshippers in this country - what if one walked in and asked for a cake that had the words "All hail the Devil!" on it, with a devil character and demons?

Read my lips:  The First Amendment is superior to any such law.

I read it - it had to do with recovering attorney fees, and had nothing to say about the supposed conflict between the First Amendment and "anti-discrimination" laws.

~taking your example one step further, if the SCOTUS rules in favor of the gays (who bakery shopped for a openly Christian Bakery), then  an Devil Worshiper could demand that a Christian cater their celebration of a symbolic marriage to the Devil (and thereby participate in the "marriage")

Goes beyond that - since ministers get paid for marrying people, devil worshipppers could demand that they be married by one!  This shows how when you go down a wrong logical path, it leads to endless nonsense.

the slippery slope of redefining marriage is something like opening Pandora's Box.  Now who'd to say they can't marry their sheep.  Grin Grin Grin

obviously you didn't read what the judges wrote in their opinion about practicing one's religious beliefs.

And municipalities should have the right to refuse to allow such businesses to operate.
