That won't stop anyone from dragging it all up again as a distraction.

No, it won't.  Everything in a candidate's past is fair game during a campaign.  But this last campaign proved it didn't really matter in 2016.  I predict it will matter even less in 2020 UNLESS he does it again between now and then.  And I seriously doubt he will.

Franken isn't quitting, Bets are on that he will reverse his resignation within 10 days..

That's why he worded it as such. My guess is he will go but he now used his words as insurance in case he changes his mind.

I believe I didn't say if it would work but that they will still use it. Yes people aren't falling for lots of things.

The only way it becomes an albatross to hang around Trump's neck is if he is sued by one or more of the alleged victims and Trump "pulls a Clinton" and commits perjury.

Sex talk (even crude, vulgar sex joking) isn't a crime.  If it were they would have locked up Buddy Hacket and Rodney Dangerfield (and many, many more comics)  a long time ago for what they said in their Vegas acts (tamed down for the Carson Show).

He said/she said is very hard to prove.  The real danger under oath is you don't know what the other side might have.  Bill Clinton did not count on a semen stained dress saved by Monica Lewinski! (with the DNA of the POTUS on it)
