If Moore is elected, there is really very little that the Senate can do.

They can not just not seat him, regardless of what Mitch McConnell said.  What right do Senators from any other state have to interfere in the choice of Senator made by the citizens of any other State.  There is such a thing as "due process" and other Constitutional Rights, of every American Citizen.  One doesn't lose any such rights simply by being elected to office!

If Moore is elected and if Moore stays, so will Franken!  Franken's hanging around just long enough to see how this hand plays out!

This article does a good job of explaining what can be done... also explains why Dems are so scared of Moore winning.

I thought Democrats booing God would be gold for Republicans, but...

It would be more damaging for the Republican party to lose a valuable seat and allow the Democrats to flip a red state.
Allowing Moore to win then investigating the accusations against him once he wins is the way to go... if he is guilty he get's expelled and we regain our moral high ground, if he is proven innocent we are proven right for presuming innocence until calling a man guilty and ruining his life.

So at least you admit that any pretense to having a "moral high-ground" has been lost in this disastrous embrace of Moore.

I should have said the appearance of moral high ground.... the Dems are trying to appear to be morally superior, but unless they investigate the under age prostitution claims on Menendez they have no basis to claim the moral high ground at all.

Personally I find it immoral to automatically believe women w/o an actual investigation, especially when you consider the timing of the claims.
Waiting till R's were stuck w/Moore is very telling, the Post could have gone looking for this story when Moore was running against Strange, but they sat on it like the access hollywood sat on the tapes of Trump till he became the nominee.
People didn't fall for that shit with Trump and hopefully they don't fall for it with Moore... there is time to investigate him, but until then he is innocent IMO

If you heard his announcement he said he would resign in the near future.my guess he is giving himself an out just in case Moore wins then he can use the excuse that Moore an accused child molester is a Senator so why should he step down. NOW if Moore loses he pretty much has no choice but to quit.

Sorry, I won't pay a buck to support that lying rag of a FakeNewspaper.   (I click on it and it says I have to pay one dollar to read the article.)   I'll get it from another source.

Thanks anyways, Josie.   Smiley

Wow...just...wow.

Are you THAT cynical?

There's just no way a "D" could do the right thing without it being some (((DEEPSTATE))) ploy to rob the righteous right of their great victory. IT'S A TARP!!

He doesn't believe it. It's a political ploy to lessen the impact of Franken resigning on the Alabama voters. Right-wingers are using it so Franken's resignation puts less pressure on Moore.
