Interesting statement on my NYS local (town/county) Real Property Tax Bill

it reads...

" Did you Know? The cost to local taxpayers of just one of dozens of State Mandates is more than one-half of all property taxes collected by the County.  Tax Levy = $43.8 million.  Medicaid Mandate = $23.6 million. "

BTW,  New York State is one of the states that did not sue the Obama Administration for the Obamacare expansion of Medicaid.

Our Spending Addicted Far Left, corrupt state government gleefully expanded Medicaid to cover other than the truly needy and indigent, which Medicaid was designed to support.  This redistribution of our wealth goes far beyond our support of Federal Tax Dollars handed out to the states, to support this socialist scheme.  It s half of our ever increasing local property tax bill!  Angry

The New York Governor Cuomo has been crying about the tax bill that Trump got passed. If the dirty left doesn't like it, .. you know it must be good!  Wink  Smiley

Just as Hillary Clinton did during her brief stint as our carpetbagging Senator, Andy's been feathering his own nest to enhance his resume for a future Presidential bid.  He has been spending money with increased fees and one shot deals, spending every damn cent he can get his hands on, with no regard to the looming deficits that will be created for the next, unlucky son of a bitch who "wins" the governorship and replaces him.

Here in New York, we have had leaders of both parties sent to prison for corruption.  NYC and Albany and a handful of other urban centers are the tail that wags the dog for our entire state!  These Marxists are as corrupt as Chicago, Detroit and the whole state of Illinois, where the politicians (of both parties) first run for office, then run from the prosecutors, as long as they can.

The Dream of Andy's Father (Mario Cuomo) is that one day his sonny boy will be able to do to the entire country what he and his Daddy (and "Journalist/Marxist, brother, Chris Cuomo) have done to our state.  The formula is simple.  Rob from everyone who has a job, reward the rich with loopholes and pander votes with bribes from the Public Troff.  (both Republicans and Democrats play this game, together!)

Didn't many, or maybe most of those unfunded federal mandates originate with the Reagan tax cuts for the rich?I

Wally;

We live in the greatest state in the greatest nation in the history of the planet.
Or at least that is what we were taught when we were kids, remember?
And yet in this greatest place to live ever, we can't provide universal
access to quality basic health care? How can we pretend to be anything
other than a third world, backwoods Mecca for ne'er-do-well flag wavers
if we can't even provide access to quality basic health care? The answer
is that we can't. And since we must do at least the least that is required,
and more and more that seems to be the best we can do as well,
then we have to find a way to pay for it. I'd advocate for higher wages
and better benefits for the working poor. People like you will resist that
because of your willful ideological ignorance. I'd advocate for single payer
and higher taxes on the corporations and billionaire who are draining
the currency pool and hoarding the profits. Again, you'd resist that
in lemming lockstep with your partisan, ideological masters. So how
do we provide for access to quality basic health care for everyone? Do you
have an answer? Do you have a plan? Do you have a clue? Or do you just
what to bitch about it because basically you checked your brain and
your heart at the door the day you decided to become a Republican?
