Lead the charge. Let me know how it goes.  I get blank stares mostly.

100% of the alleged pro-lifers with whom I have broached this subject would be perfectly content with a return to pre Roe vs
Wade status of abortion, and are surprised when I point out to them that, while illegal, it was not murder and was seldom prosecuted.  And when it WAS prosecuted, it was not prosecuted very strongly.

One even told me "I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PENALTY IS!  I JUST WANT THE KILLING TO STOP!"

And the emphasis was hers, not mine.

And KNOW this: if there is not an exception for rape, you aren't going to change a thing.

Good luck.

Again, we penalize the child for the rape of the woman.  Let's be brutally honest EF, the child has been shown to FEEL pain during the procedure.  We have proven this with the technology we have today.  I am not for that either. But then again, I am never going to change the mind of the sinner outside of their redemption.  They enjoy their sin and have no desire to turn away from it.  This is the standards of the world God warned us about in the latter day.  My issue is that there are churches who are ok with this which clearly is against God's word.

And again, on this side of the topsoil, if anybody wants to change the status quo with respect to abortion, he's gonna have to grant a reasonable exception for rape.  Period.  And if he doesn't want to change the status quo, I question his belief that abortion is murder.

I also question the belief that abortion is murder from anyone who would be satisied with a return to pre Roe vs Wade conditions.  Or I at least question their understanding of pre Roe vs Wade conditions.  They seem to think a return to pre Roe vs Wade conditions would solve this vexing moral issue.  And I use the word "think" very loosely, because none of them have put much thought into it.

I am reminded of a story I read once.  A guy is walking down a beach picking up stranded starfish who would otherwise perish and placing them back in the ocean, where they will live.  Another guy walks up and says, "What're you doin' that for?  Look at all them starfish stranded ahead of you.  You can't save ALL of them!"

And the guy says, "No, but I can save these," and tosses another starfish in the ocean.

The abortion is murder crowd has many people like that.  They won't give an inch on their stand, even when their stand does not punish abortion as murder, against an exception for rape.  And all they do is make pro-choicers happy when they do that.
