Goodlatte Plan would pass in the House; this is why Senate is starting the debate

As we all now, the Senate will require 60 votes and the GOP only have 51 votes.

Today, the Senate is having a rare open debate on Immigration, where Senators can share their ideas, in an attempt to find some compromise which might pass.

The Goodlatte Plan in the House will have the 218 required votes.  The President has staked out his Four Pillar Plan and has threatened to veto any legislation which doesn't address each of these requirements.

The American people, as well as "the Dreamers" and the world can see where themselves that it is the Senate who are the problem and the Senator's positions can be judged as their willingness to deal with the realities of getting a deal that can pass both Houses and be signed into law by the President.

We shall see what we shall see...
