That special election in PA is happening now.  Tuesday.  Lamb vs. Saccone.  Trump went in guns blazing to get his guy the win.  Will it work?

The RCP poll average has Lamb the democrat ahead by 2 points.

Well, it might work better than this message board does.
There's really no way to be certain how much effect it actually has one way or the other. But one could expect just about any president to do the same. If you're implying that a republican loss here, would represent a rejection of Trump and his policies don't bother. It will take a lot more than this one election to determine anything like that. But I'm sure that won't stop predictable idiots on this board to portray it as such.

What does it mean to have another Trump endorsed candidate either about to lose or will underperform by about 20%+ of 2016 results?

Not quite as much as people think it means.  As I said in my original post.  Lamb is a freaking wet dream of a candidate.  Saccone is a freaking wet blanket.

It'll say a lot about requiring good quality candidates who know how to reject the Democratic Party and work with the president if that's what it takes to win.  (Is that what the Dems nationwide are rolling with?)

But I think the more telling issue is how Trumpian Lamb is.  And what it dictates about winning or remaining competitive in Trump territory?  Territory that will need to be won over in 2020... and what it says about the "old" Democratic Party of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

It's going to energize more money in the race that's for sure if Lamb pulls off the win.  (Something everyone's been predicting for weeks including the Republicans so let's not pretend it's earth shattering.)  But hey ... more money!  Always a good thing amirite guys!??  Crossing fingers it's used the right way ...

Lamb and Trump have little in common. Lamb actually served his country and didn't wimp out with multiple deferments including the infamous "bone spur" excuse.

And I bet Stormy would much rather do Lamb than the Whale.

It's down to absentee ballots.  3,206 left to count with only a 579 point spread.

http://www.cnn.com/election/2018/pennsylvania-house-special-election

But the absentee votes are all tallied in Allegheny.  Conor Lamb's base of support.

The other 3 counties have all been heavily favoring Saccone.  But by a maximum of 57%.

If only 57% of the 3,206 go Saccone, Lamb is going to win by a gnat's whisker.  Saccone needs 60% of that 3206.  But "they say" absentee voting favors Republicans generally.

What a nail biter!

Win or lose, will other Democrats follow Lamb's lead?

And will the Democratic faithful support them if they do?

Pro tariff, pro gun, anti Nancy Pelosi and pro work with Trump.

Interesting times.

How incredibly relevant to the Pennsylvania elections!

Stuff like this makes me bet the answer to "Will rank and file Democrats support candidates who can win against Trump" is going to be a no.

Republicans tho?  Like they did tonight?  Interesting times.

How illogical to conclude that giving Trump a very well deserved mocking means that rank and file Dems won't support candidates like Lamb. Au contraire. Any Dem who can beat Trump or his lackeys has my vote.
