I am catching up.  Looks like Tillerson's comments on Russia came during his unscheduled plane ride back from Africa.  He uttered that particular bit of disloyalty after he'd been axed.

There is this, however, from the WaPo article that broke the news:

Tillerson emerged as one of the strongest voices in the administration critical of Russia. For months, he has been saying Russia clearly meddled in the 2016 U.S. election, even as Trump shied away from any critical remarks.

That, and the "f-cking moron" comment, are the bits of disloyalty that likely led to his firing.

Good times.

Look how they still misrepresent things FC.  Is it any wonder so many people on the left have TDS?

CNN today released this ...

Breaking glass ceiling doesn't give Gina Haspel a pass

Here in an article about the new Director of the CIA, they manage to cast these same aspersions you were at the outset.  So it's no wonder it's the natural "go to" for people.

Second, Haspel must be firm about the Russian threat. Early news reports suggest Tillerson doesn't know why he was fired, today of all days, and it comes a day after he directly called out Russia for its suspected involvement, announced as "highly likely" by British Prime Minister Theresa May, in the poisoning of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal with a nerve agent. The White House refused to support May in directly naming Russia (although Trump suggested otherwise in his comments Tuesday on the South Lawn); Tillerson had no such apprehensions.

Is that fake news?  Does it qualify as such?  Is it odd that it's CNN?

Would Fox News be given a pass?  I mean isn't this exactly the kind of stuff ... repeated day in and day out like CNN has been doing for literally years now ... that earned Fox the Faux News reputation?

But more importantly does it give people a mistaken impression of a sequence of events and demonstrate an example of continuing confirmation bias?  Does it feed directly into Trump Derangement Syndrome?  I think it does.  I mean sure, it's factually accurate.  The public announcement of Tillerson's firing did come a day after he said that.

But factual, honest reporting would say Tillerson stated it AFTER he was given the axe.  As you put it.  Doesn't that bother you that our news anchors and journalists we rely on so heavily are doing this kind of stuff?

It's fascinating.  Truly one of the most amazing things I've seen.  There but for the grace of God go I and all that.

Roll Eyes

If Tillerson doesn't agree with the president, why should he stay on, or have ever accepted the job??   In spite of you folks endlessly churning this, it gets down to one thing: the SOS implements >>>the president's policy<<, period, full stop.   Roll Eyes

And as far as Trump is concerned, it's Trump first, country second.

"[Tillerson as Sec of State will] turn out good.  Trump has dealt with governments all over the world for his various enterprises - he's hugely more worldly than Hussein was when he came into office.  He's being careful to get the right man."

Yeah, well, even a "stable genius" slips up now and then.

Uh-huh.

One deck chair has brown webbing. The other has green webbing.

Night and day.

Right.

The point is the Trump admin is steaming directly into an iceberg field, at full speed.

You don't know what you're babbling about.  Grin  Read up on Pompeo.

Partial list of Trump flip-flops, with regard to foreign policy:

China currency manipulation (said they were manipulators, then said they weren't)

Syria (said we should not intervene, then intervened)

NATO (said it was obsolete, then said it was no longer obsolete)

North Korea (said Tillerson was wasting his time negotiating with NK, then accepts an invitation to negotiate with NK)

Fiction.  Grin

These are all backed by quotes and easily sourced.  Would you like me to provide those citations, or will it make no difference to you anyway?

Go ahead - then we'll be able to spot the distortion, omission of facts etc.  Smiley  (Maybe not right today - I'm trying to do my taxes today.  Wink)
