Burglary in uk, homeowner at home

This is scary. Look how many instances the burglar became violent against the homeowner.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1245417/Burglary-victims-attacked-home-3...

And the homeowner can legally only use reasonable force to defend him or herself.

What day you limey?

“Reasonable force” seems reasonable.

It includes, where it’s readonable, lethal or potentially lethal force.

Do you think people should use unreasonable force? Are you mad?

Sensible laws.

Hey limey. Having been broken into several times over my life and coming face to face with an intruder once, I know the concept of reasonable is truly something made up by someone writing this up in a theoretical classroom environment.

You truly have no idea what someone already in your home is capable of. In my case the guy and I fought. In three occasions he got away from me only to turn back and come at me.

Turned out to be a bad day for him but could easily have gone the other way.

The us is many times the population vs you and I was shocked at how many times a homeowner is attacked by an intruder. I’m sure it’s many times that here.

Just shocking that burglars are so brazen. They must not fear getting caught or the consequences of getting caught

If a burglar breaks into your home, the absolute optimal thing to do is kill him.

First, you're within your rights. You have the right to protect yourself and your property.

Second, by killing him, you avoid the possibility of the burglar getting away with his crime and then coming back to you to seek revenge.

Third, it would make for a very exciting entry to your diary.

Quite a few cases, unless I’m mistaken limey, where people in uk have gotten in trouble for using too much force.

Wasn’t there a terry Martin or someone with a similar name bat made the news over there.

Yeah, he shot someone in the back whilst that person was running away.

That was deemed ‘unreasonable’ by a jury.

Can’t say I disagree.

On the other hand, you are an American and therefore extra-judicial killing is normal for you.

The police do it all the time so why shouldn’t householders?

Extra-judicial killing is not "normal" for us, but it does happen.  Evidently it happens in your nation, too.

Our police do not do it "all the time".  That really is a silly thing to say.

Shooting someone in the back is frowned upon by our judicial system, even if you have found them in your home, uninvited.  I can understand how that happens, particularly in a scarey situation, but it's not considered good form over here.  A jury would decide how to judge it, considering the circumstances.

You really sunk to a low with that last sentence. Simply a foolish thing to write.
