Patrick is a pussy.

He could go over there and fight to defend all the children.  He won't.

He will hide under his bed and demand that others go fight and die for a cause that he is unwilling to personally sacrifice anything for.

Hey, you're RIGHT!  No use getting all upset about little toddlers killed in droves  with sarin gas.

Again, you’re all emotion and very little common sense. The fact is, there are atrocities being committed all over the world - in Yemen, Venezuela, North Korea, China, Turkey, Myanmar, etc. Do you think we should bail them out, too? Where do you draw the line?

Why would you risk the lives of our servicemen for foreigners halfway around the world? Syria isn’t even our ally.

And one more question: Do you think America is the world’s policeman?

HEY, I GET IT!  And while we shouldn't be the world's policeman, why should we even have our OWN policemen????  Why do we ask policemen to risk their lives going after killers, robbers, and rapists??  People get all emotional HERE when they see a school  shot up by somebody.  Best to calm down and not ask the police to risk their lives going after him.  Wink

The Russians and Assad Syrians both deny that his forces used chemical weapons.

I don't necessarily believe that, but such false flag operations have been pulled in the past, probably by remnants of ISIS, who would like no better than to have their foes turn on each other.

It's possible, but so far doesn't seem to be any evidence to support that theory.

A much darker scenario would have Trump/Bolton secret forces launch the attack to pin it on Assad and divert attention away from the Mueller investigation and Stormy scandal.

Darker and entirely fanciful.

I'd sooner believe Nixon sabotaged the Paris peace talks for political reasons, leading to thousands more deaths of American troops, than entertain a notion like that.  Sides, Trump knows Mueller would figure it out.

Yeah... tweaking some talks is one thing, arranging for a deliberate mass killing quite another (although the end results are probably comparable).

Any stunt like that would be a non starter for any politician outside a gangster State.

And...?

Seriously, I wasn't saying Trump would do such a thing, but it would be a very dark thing if he did.

Of course, maybe Putin was doing him a unrequested favor.
