It's a great relief to know that we don't have to worry about global warming anymore, now that it's gotten cooler here in the US for a few days...

Weather changes.

And if after a decade of so that weather change becomes the typical weather, it's called climate. ..  Humans have managed to change the climate.

Snow, freezing rain, record lows. All over the states. Never seen temps so low this time of year. Must be cyclical.

Using short term weather events (regardless whether you're talking increased or decreased temps) is not a how climate is determined.

So do climates.  But it's a wise man who does not conflate the two.

Would a wise man claim that a hurricane is the result of global warming when it is a limited event?

We've been told for years that these limited events, hurricanes, will increase in both frequency and intensity by those who now tell us that they are local events.

Have hurricanes increased in frequency and intensity as we were told they would? Are hurricanes now just local events that no longer matter?

I read it. It's what I referred to in my earlier post, a prediction that hasn't come true.

Hurricanes have not increased in intensity or regularity.

Except for this, which is basically the opening paragraph:

While hurricanes are a natural part of our climate system, recent research suggests that there has been an increase in intense hurricane activity in the North Atlantic since the 1970s. In the future, there may not necessarily be more hurricanes, but there will likely be more intense hurricanes that carry higher wind speeds and more precipitation as a result of global warming. The impacts of this trend are likely to be exacerbated by sea level rise and a growing population along coastlines.-

A problem is there are people who will pipe up every time a hurricane takes place, acting as though it proves their side of the climate argument. They are just as wrong as those who try to use a temporary cold snap to make a claim concerning climate.
