Mueller says he won't indict Trump?

From foxnews.com:

Quote:
President Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Fox News on Wednesday that special counsel Robert Mueller has told the president's legal team he will follow Justice Department guidance and not seek an indictment against Trump.

Giuliani, himself a former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, also told Fox News that Mueller's investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president's team. That has forced Trump's legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel -- a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.

The precedent that federal prosecutors cannot indict a sitting president is laid out in a 1999 Justice Department memo. Giuliani told Fox News that Mueller has no choice but to follow its guidance.

"This case is essentially over," Giuliani said. "They're just in denial."

Interesting. But here's a question for you legal experts: Why can't a U.S. President be indicted? Doesn't this set a dangerous precedent? (What if the President shoots the Vice President on live TV? He still can't be indicted?)

He's be impeached and out of office. Then he would be indicted.
Not being able to indict a sitting president sort of deters politically motivated investigations.

Ah. That makes sense. At first, I thought this would make the President feel like he's above the law.

Trump went into office thinking that.  He has since been surprised he isn't, I think.

This. It’s also why Trump isn’t the “target” of the investigation.

Where we should have gone in the first place.  Accept that Donald J. Trump won the Presidency.  hil's and some of the others in the dem party have trouble accepting that fact.  Accept that it's cost the taxpayers a lot of money because of a 'sore loser' attitude.

Possibly they should hang their heads in shame, but we know that will never happen.

Those darn sore losers! Were it not for them, the Donald would be able to go on about his "making America great again" without the distractions of all these Russians, porn stars, Cohen whatevers, and other lies that have been made up by the elite, liberal, lying, lamestream media, including but not limited to the failing New York Times.  Who knew sore losers had that kind of clout?

I predict the Donald will hang his head in shame before those sore losers ever do.  Which means ain't gonna happen.

This is meaningless.

But Guiliani forced the concession because it's going to seem to have meaning to those who don't understand the only way to remove the president has always been impeachment.

Ghouliani has got it wrong.

By DOJ policy, a sitting president cannot be tried in court. There is nothing that says he cannot be indicted, however.

So Mueller, if he sees fit, can indict Trump and then let Congress put him on trial.
