Our media, our Democrats, and the "anonymous sources working against the president from within" want war with Russia.

This is how you get justification for a war with Russia.

Fine.  Whatever.  I guess.  I can't stress how little I give a shit about Assad, about Syria, and about the Syrian people.  But whatever.  Let's get it over with.

And you all wonder why I'm so hostile and disgusted by Democrats.

A true liberal position would be acknowledging our missteps with Russia over the past 25 years and our violation of agreements with them.  A true liberal position would be acknowledging the reality of how we totally crappity smacked up the post cold war peace process, and realizing we need to be the ones making the first moves towards reconciliation.

But let's give this new illiberal neoleftism a try.  It seems super popular.  Must be something to it, right?

No body wants war with Russia.  Everyone knows that after the Iraqi war that the far right supported only because there was a republican president that initiated the war, that this country has become war weary.  Why would anyone want to war with Russia?

No blacks will buy that cap.  Look at the bill! It's all curved like normal people wear. The bill of the hat is supposed to be flat with a shiny goofy looking sticker in the middle of it.

No self respecting thug would be without his sticker!

You've got your head so far up Trump's ass you can't think straight.

I directly addressed your point, the idiotic defense that he was -forced- to do anything.  Trump made the decision there is no way around it.  He wasn't forced.  He is responsible.

This idea that Trump is forced to put our troops into harms way in an effort to create conflict with Russia is nothing but blind Trumpet defense.

I never said that.  See what I mean about having difficult addressing what I wrote?  And you still haven't responded to a single thing I said.

I've been both entertained and fascinated by how people will do whatever they can to rationalize continuing to believe what they believe no matter how irrational or unhinged the belief.  TDS is very similar to a religion.

I said "this is how you get war with Russia."

You extrapolated from that, that I meant Trump was being forced to deliberately put troops in harm's way so that when Russia bombs them we have a pretext for war with Russia.

No I just meant staying in Syria.  The article is about troops staying in Syria.

Lomelis.  We already have casus belli.  We don't need Russia to bomb our troops.  (I'm not sure how you missed seeing the news for the past 2 years.)

My comment was a comment of frustration over the fact that we're still in Syria.

Trump has repeatedly gone back and forth on Syrian involvement.  Just a couple months ago he was saying publicly ... again ... 'I want to get out’ of Syria  Not for the first time.  But for some reason, just like under Obama ... it can't get done.  Why?

We have seen multiple back and forths on the Syria issue.  And we have also seen from both Bob Woodward's book and from the anonymous op ed that there are officials within the administration actively working against Trump's foreign policy agenda and in some cases completely ignoring his orders.

Do you think when Barack Obama was running for president he envisioned not ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and further expanding our military conflicts to 7 different countries?  Or did he have a little help?

Did the military industrial complex completely evaporate because Trump?   Did the warhawks in Congress and in the national security apparatus all die when John McCain did?

Pull your head out and get a breath of fresh air.  You're better than this.

What kind of air do you have to be breathing to go from being suspicious of our government's foreign policy and intelligence apparatus to cheerleading them because you don't like the president the way you have?

The question isn't whether or not we're descended from monkeys.  The question is, when are we going to stop descending?

Dude.  I questioned that he was being manipulated into something, you specifically said replace "manipulated" with being "forced" and went into a long tirade about how the deep state and whatever else is -forcing- him into it.

You made it even more ridiculous.

Bottom line he is responsible for these decisions in Syria.

Do you agree or disagree that he is wrong?

Stop defending his mistakes.

So the US should do nothing while maybe hundreds of thousands of civilians are slaughtered.  I never fail to be impressed by the pure non-interventionist:  stand by indifferently while vast numbers of women and children are slaughtered, including in the most horrible ways.  Ain't none of our business.  Shocked

That's what I thought.

A lot of fake outrage.

Ah, the free Syria Army or whatever they are, ISIS and AQ, and the various other rebel groups would gladly accept you as a volunteer.

You gotta actually go there though, and you know, fight to help the thousands of people that you care so much about.
