You are an excellent example of why he will win a second term, all hate and no substance.

Sure.. It would take you, an ultra-gullible Jesus humper, to consider ANY degree of Presidential oversight a "nothing burger"..

You don't want Trump held accountable for his disgusting behavior but your mango tinted Messiah's days of flouting basic decency are at an end.

Because you are looking at this in the context of putting points on a scoreboard.

I am looking at this in the context of balances of power.

When I said the Trump coalition has been purified, I am talking about the forces known as "Republicans" now.  They're no longer Trumplicans and Republicans.  They're just Republicans.

You and Demos both are talking in terms of the Democrats taking out moderate Republicans.  I am too.  The moderate Republicans are gone.  It doesn't matter how many Trump backed candidates lost to Democrats.  What matters is the Republicans who remain are for the most part Trumplicans.  And there are still a lot of them.  And many of them owe their positions to Trump.

Same deal in the Senate.  Many of those senators now owe their political careers to him.

I was going to post earlier before I got busy but the first thing we should expect to see is Jeff Sessions pushed out.  The news it had already happened beat me to it.

Trump doesn't just have free reign of judges now.  He has free reign for cabinet appointments as well.

Trump won big last night.  The Democrats solidified themselves even more in 2018 as the "establishment" party.  It's where the "establishment" Republicans have fled.  And not a lot of hard leftists won in competitive areas.  The perfect foil for Trump.

What are the Democrats in the House going to do?  What legislation are they going to pass?  Oooh they're going to call for more investigations.  Those investigations and their cries of impeachment didn't do much to secure them any wins last night.  The tiny margins of victory in many of these contested districts don't give the Democrats a lot of room to go tilting at windmills and keep their patchwork coalition of socialists and identity politics activists and "establishment" Republican and Demoratic moderates together for another two years.

You'll see.  If not in the next few months, then in 2021 when Trump is being inaugurated for a 2nd term.  Leftists need to stop thinking putting points on a scoreboard means shit.  Keeping the fans buying tickets to the game is what matters.

The “balance of power” was as predicted. GOP retains Senate, Democrats take the house and gain gubernatorial seats. Trump should have been replaced by Pelosi on your little list. Trump losing his law passing capabilities and opening himself up to persistent investigations makes him a winner? That’s more than just scoreboard. Your analysis was a joke.

Do you know how many seats lost under Obama's first term?  Here is a hint, far more then Trump.

President Barack Obama is about to do what no president has done in the past 50 years: Have two horrible, terrible, awful midterm elections in a row.

In fact, Obama is likely to have the worst midterm numbers of any two-term president going back to Democrat Harry S. Truman.

Truman lost a total of 83 House seats during his two midterms (55 seats in 1946 and 28 seats in 1950), while Republican Dwight Eisenhower lost a combined 66 House seats in the 1954 and 1958 midterms. ..

Your Obama Dysfunction Syndrome is obvious and pathetic, but of no further interest.

As for Todt, the actual number of House Dems elected is nowhere near as important as the fact that the Dems can now have their fair say on the Capitol about any and all legislation, in addition to being able to exercise the power of their committees to investigate and subpoena whatever wrong doing they are alerted to.

Which is very bad news for Mr. Todt.

Good.

Trump did surprisingly well considering the history of the party in power losing big in the mid terms. The democrats of course took control of the House. They can't undo Trump's agenda but can slow it down. The question is will they overreach with investigations and impeachment. probably. Meanwhile Trump and McConnell will continue to load the courts with conservative judges.

Jim Acosta will continue to be a dick.

I remember not so long ago when Jas had a total meltdown because I posted an article that was - shocker - a month old.

I agree.  President Trump and the Republicans did surprisingly well considering that this was the first midterm election in President Trump's first term.  'Tradition' is that in that circumstance the party in power usually loses a lot more than 20-something seats.  That tradition was broken.  Good night for the Reublican Party.

Are you addicted to hate.  There was no blue 👋.  Pretty straightforward.
