I think we have a government free from his "mythology."  The founders set it up that way and it remains that way to this day, seems to me.

Absolutely true which leads me to openly wonder if he is pointing to the First Amendment about our Free Expression clause.

Let's be honest and open here, the left would love to curtail certain rights our founders found as inalienable.

Well, it would be as true to say "the right" wants that, too.  Truth is, the lunatic fringe on either side are the only ones that want that, but they make the most noise.  The vast majority of people on the left and right are more reasonable but don't make as much noise.  That Der Fuhrer panders to the lunatic fringe on the right is regrettable, but it seems to have been serving him well so far.  Maybe not for much longer, though.
