I remember the thrill of getting to go with Dad to the little country store on Friday nights. The old store owner stayed open after dark for boxing night. All the men folk would sit around eating cheese and crackers to watch the fights on the only TV in the area.

It was. Hard for a seven year old to beat Friday nights sitting around an old country store with the men, all of us gathered around a coal fire in a big old cast iron pot belly during the winter. 15¢ got me a 10 oz nehi and a nickles worth of candy, or a 6.5 oz coke and 9¢ in candy - Decisions
