Any musicians or wannabes here?

I bought a Lowry Virtual Orchestra keyboard last summer to compensate for an unfulfilled lifelong dream to play the piano. I take lessons and have fun playing complete songs relatively easily. It's a modified bucket list item, but, at my age, it works for me.  Smiley

I've played music my entire life. Piano, percussion, guitar . . .
Now I'm teaching my eight month old granddaughter.
She is fascinated by music, loves rhythm and drumming.
It's never too early, and God bless you, it's never too late!

Drums. Been playing since 3rd grade. Self taught. Too late to get lessons but I really want to learn how to read and write music.

Multi-talented, no less! That's awesome. You must have passed those genes on to your granddaughter to be starting so young. What a good grandfather you are!

My granddaughter started piano at four as well as dance lessons; my grandson the violin at six. He also has drums; his dad is teaching him them. They have such a headstart. I just hope they realize what a blessing these opportunities are and stay interested.

Good for you, TrainMan! I admire people who have the self-determination to teach themselves an instrument. I tried to do that with the piano when my son was taking lessons, but it was really hard, and I was too impatient to take it slowly.

Reading music isn't really that hard. I bet there are online sources for learning it. Maybe there's even a Reading Music for Dummies book out there. Remember, you'll never again be as young as you are. . . Go for it!

BTW, every time I see your name, I'm reminded of standing in my front yard as a kid and waving at passing trains.  Cool

Well, Luther, make some time and get back at it! Music soothes the soul, you know.  Smiley

Thanks, but I don't know about multi-talented. I play
any instrument as if it's a piece of percussion. (Thanks, JB!)
I definitely have an identifiable style, and am good at
what I do, but my range is limited. I am a rhythm guy,
and a rhythm guitarist. I play chords and fills, but no leads.

Or at least not in public.

Hey, the chords and fills are what give the leads life, movement, interest. Don't underestimate your contribution.  Smiley
