Nonsense, Sparky.  The "outcomes" depend on an extremely wide range of factors other than the healthcare system:   How unhealthy is the population because of their own preventable actions?  How much poverty is there?   Degree of gun violence?  Have many war veterans?  Is there widespread drug and alcohol use?  Are millions of sick illegal aliens flooding in?

But the US compares unfavorably against all other advanced economies, not just the UK.  Are you saying that life in the US (in terms of poverty, addiction, crime, military adventurism, and barbarians at the gate) is causing our healthcare costs to double?  And that these problems are dramatically lower in every other advanced economy?

Wow.

Huh

And?

Who gives a crappity smack?

Holy shit you are such a hypocritical turd.  Why don't you just leave this country already?  Vacate your nasty drug infested camp and move to the arctic already instead of leaching off the rest of us.

Yes there are problems, different from the ones in fully private/for profit healthcare systems like yours.

LOL at "fully private/for profit".

Yes.

Wow.

Your side is implying that the method of funding is what contributes to the difference in cost.  That is at least equally "wow".

Our problem is that our insurers and pharmaceuticals have captured a market already prone to monopolistic forces, supplier consolidation, and starkly inelastic demand curves, and set up a nice fat rent-seeking operation.

So why not deregulate and allow a more competitive market?

Regulations are designed to protect the consumer and the worker. Wink

Wads, I asked someone a question who is capable of understanding English.

That would not be you.

That's an option.  But given that the markets of other advanced economies have won significant cost savings by going in the opposite direction, do you think it will be different for us?

Grin You don't even know what a regulation is designed to do.  How could you engage in a conversation that entails the understanding of English?

But we aren't these other nations.

A significantly different federalized system.  A massive and diverse population.  A culture that -demands- extensive one on one personal care.  A massively obese, unhealthy culture.

Nothing leads me to believe that we could get anywhere close to these other countries health care outcomes without a significant lifestyle change that goes way beyond how our care is provided.

I can look at Norway, Sweden, Britain, Canada or wherever all day but then when I glance back at what we have to work with:  Trump and his minions, a dysfunctional and spineless legislative branch, a barely accountable money press, and a judiciary that doesn't want to rock the boat...

It just makes me wonder wtf you are smoking.
