Health Care question

Print Post
Why doesn't the state pay for it?

My poor state of Maine pays for the poor families and disabled healthcare. If they have children or are disabled. Many jobs help out too. If you're single with no kids, its your problem.
The single who still struggle can get help with health care. They get food stamps too.

The United States has always been a hard country to live in. You're not told what to do. We are free in this country. Freedom comes at a price.

Two words: medical bankruptcy.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Neither the state nor the federal government should pay for anyone’s health care.

Personal responsibility.

It’s a surprisingly common thought which, in my opinion, shows a great ignorance of history and global affairs.

Depends how you look at it. I didn't say nice.

Easy Country to live in
North Korea
Saudi Arabia

You're told how to live. You don't have to make decisions. They're made for you. Its not a good or happy life, but easy.

Many dictatorship countries tell the people they have it good and give them the facts they want people to believe.

People from North Korea struggle in South Korea to understand how to make decisions. (SK, Japan, US basically the same in many ways). Decisions are huge part of your life. They're hard to make sometimes. It makes life hard.

Decisions are part of learning as you growing up.  It should have started at a very young age.

I don’t really agree with your reasoning, but commend you for the attempt. I found your defense interesting.

Why should the state pay for it?  Where will "the state" get the money to pay for it?  The poor have always been able to get health care since I've been aware of that type of thing in my teen years.  What has been progressive is the slow clever process by the dems to use our govt to get health care for all paid for by the govt.  The dems want us to become a Socialist nation instead of the Republic that we were founded to be.  Health care is a large portion of that process.

I think it should be up to the state. Either they say we'll give it or we won't. People talk about other countries doing it. They're built differently. Each state acts (in a way) as its own country. Its kind of like US England in the 16th century.
