https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/22/elizabeth-warren-use-wealth-tax-to-wipe-out-coll...

So here is what she wants to do:
* Tax the wealthiest 1% an extra 2%
* Pay 75% of 95% of student debt
* Make public universities free
* Give an additional $100 billion in Pell Grants

Now, keep in mind that if she taxed the entire economy at 2% she would only raise $400 billion a year. She's not, so she will get far less than that. But somehow she says she will have an extra $1 trillion left over after 10 years.

From what I could find, I. 2014 the top 1% made just under $2 trillion. So her 2% tax would net $40 billion a year. Over ten years that's $400B so even with the better economy today, she can't get to $1T over the next ten hears much less have a trillion left over.

who was it here that said it doesn't matter that aoc claims there are kids serving jail time for jumping turnstiles...and we can't find any evidence supporting her claim...what matters is the idea of it...

so it doesn't matter if what she says makes no sense mathematically...its the idea...

lets not let facts, data, math cloud the issue.

Trump hasn't left office yet, and already they're pretending to be the party of fiscal responsibility again.

I don't trust her on much. But I'm 100% positive she is better with numbers than you.

In 2020, when President Trump is reelected and we retake the House and gain a fillabuster proof majority in the Senate, then you can blame President Trump and the Republicans for this continuing mess in Washington.

Pocahontas wants that tax on the 1% to be a "wealth tax", not an "income tax".  It's akin to property tax.  It's not a bad idea, particularly given how adept the 1% is at avoiding income taxes.  Taxing their wealth is a way of closing the loopholes on the back end.

Until they park it in an LLC that is worthless.
