Any favorite childhood memories to share?

When I was little, our family used to spend at least one weekend a year at a beach house on the North Shore. My aunty and uncle owned it, and our families would spend the weekend together. Dad, my uncle and brothers spend all their time fishing on the shore (some of them even slept on the beach overnight). My cousin and I are about the same age, and we would play board games inside, and we'd catch sand crabs in the early evening. And the food was all day and night!

I remember loving everything about it except late at night. I'd try to sleep, but I'd be worried for my Dad and brothers who were still outside on the beach. My Mom would say, "Do you want to go out and check on them?" but she knew I was too scared to go out by myself.  Lips Sealed

When I think about it now, I don't remember watching TV there. I'm pretty sure the beach house had a TV, but it was never turned on.

My sister and I often talk about the two days that were the highlights of every year while we were growing up. One of course was Christmas. The other was our Community Picnic Day at Kennywood Park each July. Fun time, fun time.  Cool

Isn't that poaching?

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Poached fish can be delicious... if you don't get caught...

My fondest memories include those hunting trips where dad and his buddies and I would go out and track down herds of mastadons.  We did have to keep an eye out for saber toothed cats though.
