If you had to live in another state...

...where would you move to?

I was born and raised in Hawaii, and this will always be my home. Like I always say, I wouldn't leave Hawaii even if I were offered a billion dollars.

But if I were *FORCED* to pick another state to live in, I would probably choose Nevada.

First of all, tens of thousands of Hawaii residents have moved to Las Vegas due to the cheaper cost of living and their affinity for the city. In fact, there are former Hawaii residents who now work in Las Vegas hotels who say that they now see their Hawaii friends more often than they would if they still lived in the Islands.

The weather would really suck in the summer months, but that's what air conditioning is for.

Vegas is also cool because there is always something going on in terms of concerts or sporting events or nightlife.

Also, Nevada doesn't have local income tax, and that's awesome. And finally, the Raiders will soon be coming, and that is my favorite NFL team.

What about you? If you had to, what state would you move to?

You don't want a AC in Nevada. You want a swamp cooler. A fraction of the cost to purchase, run...and it keep the humidity at around 60% in your house in arid regions. Because if you grew up in humidity, the dryness WILL get to you.

You're welcome.  Wink

In 2020, when President Trump is reelected and we retake the House and gain a fillabuster proof majority in the Senate, then you can blame President Trump and the Republicans for this continuing mess in Washington.

I'd move to KC....because over the years, all my family has moved there. Cheap housing. With how long ago I bought my house, it's location, and current costs in Denver, I could rent my house and would cover both my mortgage AND a baller loft on the river front in KC.

Moms there. Sisters there. Nephews. Cousins. Aunt and Uncle.

I actually may make the move late summer/early fall...depending how things align with my business here...and my soon to be business there.

Better ratio of women to men as well. They call it Menver for a reason.  Grin

Sounds nice. Is Kansas City in Missouri or Kansas?

I've been to Las Vegas lots of times, and I like the dryness. Well, when it's cold at least. I don't recall the last time I was there in the summer.

It's in both. It straddles the border. But I would be living on the Missouri side.

I'm on the cusp of retirement, so wherever I would want to move would necessarily have to be lower cost than my current location (Northern California).

But I really have no desire to relocate. I'm fairly well set up here: house paid  off, double size lot (for this area), and plenty to keep me occupied while retired (home and garden projects, cars and bikes, prospective pets (there's probably a dog in my future), lots to do at museums, concerts, colleges.

The downside: traffic keeps on getting worse. Higher cost of living than most places.

The upside: generally good weather. Good soil. Well on property for irrigation.

I know, where would I move if I HAD to?

Well, as I stated, anywhere with a lower cost of living would do. I figure I could get used to just about any state, even Alabama. Which probably would be my last choice.

Both!

Used to attend the Western Auto Dealers show there in the 90's. Fun town with a very reasonable cost of living...or it seemed that way back then.

edit: Forgot to answer the OP's question. Pennsylvania, it's a stone's throw away, just as rural and almost as wonderful...

Maryland, Florida, Texas, Louisiana are the only ones I would move to. If I had to pick one I would pick Florida.

I'd pick Montana or Wyoming. I like the cold and the mountains. Plus I love to hunt.
