Just like YOU, Black people can vote for any candidate they want for any reason they want.  Just like YOU.

Greg

Im not saying that's wrong. Some people voted against him because he was black too.

This is from a few years ago...

But it's the BEST visual I've ever found to present WHY there are "voter ID" laws.

Greg

Interesting - so I watched the video....and you have one guy stating what he believes...and the majority of the video is the host linking this guys comments to the repub party because as he points out over and over again, he is associated with the repub party and if you had an association with someone like this its implausible to assume you don't also think like them...OK, I get it...

But when I've pointed out the 20+ year very very close assn obama had with rev wright, you and others immediately say that does not prove anything...

so you adjust your rationale depending on your political position.

all that to say, just get an ID if you live in one of these 7 states...you'll now also be able to get a library card, and buy cigarettes and do a thousand other mundane things that require some form of ID

As a reminder, this guy, Don Yelton, was at the time the Buncombe County, North Carolina, precinct chairman.  He was in a position to affect voting.  Rev Wright never was.

greg, being sincere, I just have a hard time believing anyone in one of these 7 states that require an ID, and a person can legally vote, cannot get an ID....we are in 2019...most all have cell phones, internet etc...having a paper ID, especially since they are given out for free,  does not seem to be a high threshold these days...

the whole argument just seems false, made up...

Here's the point I'm making, and I'll repeat it.  In Montana, a state with FEW minorities, you can show up to vote on election day with a utility bill or something with your name and address on it.  That's it.  In states with LARGE  minority populations with REPUBLICAN legislatures, you need a special ID with specific requirements to obtain and you have to go to a special place to get one.

Why?

Greg

Let's look at it this way.  Republicans have sponsored legislation with the purpose of disenfranchising Black voters.  That is the view of the Black community.  Voter ID laws are not there to stop illegals from voting, they're there to cut down on the number of Black and Brown people from voting.  The Black community can see that.  As a counter point, it should be noted that these Voter ID laws that have been enacted by Republican led legislatures in states with large Black populations have NOT been enacted by Republican legislatures governing states with few Black or Brown populations.  So, if you want to know what the Democratic party is NOT doing...  They are NOT trying to stop minorities from voting.

Greg

Greg, do you know any black person born here that does not have a birth certificate, and a home address on any bill like phone, electric etc. That is all you need and go to the post office and get your ID to vote. And most states now, all you need is your driver’s license because if you have that ID, your name is on the voting list when you go to vote. And if you don’t have a drivers license, then just show your id from the post office. If you move to another state, you have to get that ID again so it is legal to vote in that state. Why most African Americans vote (D) I don’t understand. They do nothing for those people, except a lot of talk, mostly BS.
