So you are arguing if there were semi auto guns pre 1968 when there were almost no restrictive gun laws, the presence of such weapons would have induced more mass shootings?

Corner feeling tighter and smaller

No one was bringing assault style weapons to school for target practice in 1968.

An “Assault weapon” is a rapid-firing semiautomatic weapon, appropriate to military use. Do you think Opie had one to go duck hunting in 1968?

We are not comparing mass shootings all shooting deaths.  Saying they are extremely rare is a lie.

Mass shootings are extremely rare and we've proven it. You've posted nothing to indicate otherwise, so calling the rarity a lie is the height of willful ignorance.  Even leftist site Vox agrees with us that mass shootings are infrequent.

Instead of continuing to repeat the same old false leftist nonsense, accept the facts and move on.

So like an m1 garand or typical semi auto hunting rifle like a Remington 742 were around. One trigger pull, one shot. Like that type gun. Or a smaller caliber like a .223.

There were between 16,000 and 20,000 murders per year in the US between 1982 and 2019.  Assuming the low end of 16,000 per year for 37 years yields 592,000 homicides.  In that same period, 934 people died in mass shootings, a mere 0.16% of the total.

Only an idiot would consider 0.16% as anything but extremely rare.  And you're not an idiot, are you?

Ohio shooter hit 26 people in 1/2 a minute with an assault-style rifle.  He had a 100-round magazine.  Both need to be banned.  End of discussion

So you refuse to answer the question I see.

Extremely Rare:  to a very great degree, not occurring very often.

3 of the 10 deadliest mass shootings in US history happened in the last 18 months — here's the full list
https://www.businessinsider.com/deadliest-mass-shootings-in-us-history-2017-11
Quote:
The number of mass shooting incidents in the United States continues to rise in 2019. According to data from the Gun Violence Archive, a total of 115 mass shooting incidents have occurred as of May 7. The shooting that resulted in at least 7 victims at a school in the Denver area accounted for the 115th mass shooting incident.

It is a damn shame that you don't know what extremely rare means

The M1 carbine was sold by the thousands as surplus starting in the early 60s. This semi auto was compact, came equipped with a 15 or 30 round magazine and  fired a 30 cal. round.

But somehow, young men didn't commit mass shootings with such rifles. BTW, poverty in those days was far more widespread, yet this condition was not used as an excuse to shoot people.

Oh, I answered the question;  you just didn't like the answer or you're too stupid to understand.

There are 16,000 murders in the U.S. each year, an average of 44 murders per day.

There have been 934 deaths from mass shootings in 37 years, an average of 25 deaths per year.  Or if you want the last five years, 391 deaths have occurred for an average of 78 deaths per year or 0.21 deaths per day.

Now, in your tiny little brain, do you realize that 0.21 is tiny when compared to 44? As in...."to a very great degree, not occurring very often."

It's as if I'm casting pearls before swine. You just don't get it, do you? No wonder shotguns vs. AR-15s had you confused.
