A fountain is a landscape?  Huh

FC,

I've been thinking about how I can respond conversationally without coming across as a total dick.

Question number fifteen is over!

Question 15 was, "Which "Star Wars" actor previously played Jacob Marley in the 1970 movie musical "Scrooge"?"

The answer is:

Alec Guiness/Obi-Wan Kenobi

Are you actually participating in this contest, or are you just looking for ways to criticize Maestro? It's a good thing he's doing here, and in both instances you criticized, I totally understood what he meant. What's the deal here, Bow?  Undecided

Seems to me Bowhunter asked a simple question, and unless there's some past rancor between you two, he did not deserve the dressing down you gave him. After all, this is the Christmas season. Good cheer, tolerance, hospitality, and best wishes should be our guide. Not picking on others. And by the way, when I read that question, I also wondered how the heck a fountain can be considered a landscape. Perhaps a poor choice of words, but just as I don't fault Bowhunter for asking, I don't fault Maestro for his choice of words. But perhaps a different term could have been less ... confusing.

Dressing down? Hardly. Just wondering why he's doing that. Also wondering why you responded for him. But I'll shut up now.  Lips Sealed

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you both.  Smiley

Question number sixteen is over!

Question 16 was, "According to the Christmas Carol named after him, when did Good King Wenceslas go out?"

The answer is:

On the Feast of Stephen

Ok, we're getting close to the end! Three more questions left! I'm going to post one today and two tomorrow evening, because I probably wouldn't have time to post the final question Thanksgiving evening.

I'll end the contest some time Thursday night and post the results on Friday morning.

I've kept track of the points. Be thinking about what you might like to choose should you be the winner! It would be good if I could purchase the gifts Friday or Saturday so I can get them to our Toys 4 Tots location ASAP.

And now...

Question number seventeen is over!

Question 17 was, "The Ukranian New Year's carol Shchedryk was later adapted into what English Christmas Carol? (You can listen to it below)."

The answer is:

Carol of the Bells!

We are ready for the last two questions!

Due to the generosity of some of our members, it looks like we'll have between $30-$40 to spend on gifts for Toys4Tots, but I'll have a more precise number for you when I announce the winner.

Remember, I'll end the contest some time Thursday night and post the results on Friday morning. Please be ready with your gift ideas by then!

And now...
