Amerika! The land where you can have only a dollar in your pocket and then work hard and succeed! The land of opportunity. The land flowing with milk and honey! Amerika!

That’s what our immigrant grandparents said as they came into Ellis Island eons ago.

Our ancestors came from all parts of the world: England, Russia, Poland, France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, etc. They came for one purpose and one purpose alone — to succeed. And that meant making money.

But now we see from the Obama administration that success means being greedy. If a company pays their top people a lot more than the average worker, then he’s condemned for his success. Nevermind the fact that if that person left the same company, the company could possibly take a financial dive and eventually close. Seems those in government have no clue as to what a CEO or other officer does in order to keep their respective companies afloat. They have this crazy idea that CEOs sit behind a desk all day long, smoking some stinky stogie and just chats on the phone with their mistresses.

A corporation hires an officer based upon how he helped his previous employer, how he increased the profits of the company, how he helped expand their business. And THAT is what he’s expected to do in the company he is in now.

So Obama wants to stop success. He wants to punish success! And the goal is to destroy the middle class in the process and make people dependent upon the government.

How long are we going to stay in our complacency and do nothing? How long are we going to let Obama take the food out of our mouths and our money out of our accounts?

Keep it up and we’ll be looking like Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela.

There’s this game show called “The Price is Right!” where contestants have to choose among three doors; DOOR NUMBER ONE, DOOR NUMBER TWO, and DOOR NUMBER THREE.

Unbeknownst to the voters in 2008 we chose DOOR NUMBER ONE. With the promises of “change we can believe in,” we half way expected no more than the status quo. The economy was beginning to falter, though unemployment remained even; we were at war in two countries and the housing market was bottoming out. We had hopes that Barack Obama would have at least used capitalism to the positive end and just handled things the way recessions in the past had been handled.

Instead, when DOOR NUMBER ONE was opened, we found an empty satchel, except for a few coins in the bottom. Our economy took a nose dive. The construction industry crashed, the housing industry crashed and we went from being 5.4% unemployment to 10% unemployment. The cure (Stimulus) was worse than the disease. And Obama’s answer was to prop up an auto industry that deserved to be in a graveyard. Obama also bailed out Wall Street in the tune of $33 billion dollars. In turn he rose our deficit up beyond we’d ever seen (and then congress raised the debt ceiling).

Then there’s DOOR NUMBER TWO. We thought this one could no way be any worse than what we had experienced with Door Number One, right? WE had a healthcare system which in itself was considered the best system in the world. People from all over the world were coming here to get services they couldn’t get in their own countries with socialized medicine. Sure we needed to handle such things as tort reform, expansion of insurance coverage across state lines as well the concern over pre-existing conditions. But Barack Obama, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to throw out the baby with the bath water and replaced it with hogs in mud. The whole healthcare system just stinks.

But now we’re looking at DOOR NUMBER THREE. Pssst! I hear it’s about Immigration…….

During his presidential campaign, Barack Obama, not once, but eight times said that the legislation process would be transparent and on C-Span so the public could be made aware of the process and what was in the bill.

To achieve health care reform, “I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process.”

Sources: Town hall meeting on Aug. 21, 2008, in Chester, Va.Politifact

The airways are repeating Obama’s campaign promises over and over. Everywhere you turn, the youtube promises are being played. So Obama’s response? Nothing. When Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, was asked about it, he skirted the issue. In fact, his ownly response to the question, if Obama had broken his campaign promise, was to say that Obama’s top priority was to get the bill done quickly.

Nancy Pelosi’s comments were even more absurd. She commented that the legislation process had been more open than at any other time. She also scoffed about Obama’s campaign promise regarding C-Span saying the he made a lot of promises……. In otherwords, campaign promises are not meant to be kept. Gotcha, Nancy. I’ll remember that for the future.

Now that passage of the Healthcare bill seems iminent, many in Congress are now looking at their political futures which will be decided come this November. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is already looking at his political death while the Senator from Arkansas, Blanche Lincoln is also seeing the handwriting on the wall.

Senator Dodd of Connecticut isn’t even going to try for another term, knowing his political fate has already been served to him. Even Senator Dorgan of North Dakota has seen the affect of voting for the healthcare legislation that the majority in his own state don’t want.

This is just a sampling of what I believe is going to be a trend we’ll be seeing for the next few months. Hopefully this will translate to votes for Conservatives, and not just Republicans elected into office come November

Ordinarily this would be a good thing for Conservatives. Senator Dodd was knee deep in the scandals concerning Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as well as being involved in a sweetheart loan with Country Wide. His approval ratings were in the tank. The Republicans in Connecticut saw a clear win for any one of the Republican candidates running against Dodd in the fall.

But the DNC was also aware of that and HAD to do damage control in order to make sure the Democrats kept their majority position in the Senate. Somehow the DNA (and Obama, I’m sure) convinced Dodd to take the retirement after 30 years in office — simply put, take the bullet for the Party.

In Chris Dodd’s stead will be Connecticut’s Attorney General, Richard Blumenthal. He has a reputation of being an advocate for the people of the state and he’s well liked among the constituents of the Blue State. Conservatives see him as being rather intrusive and pro-government but the older citizens have always considered him likeable. Some had aspirations for him to be Governor one day. But the DNC felt it was best that Blumenthal make his political move now, for the sake of the Democratic Party.

This is going to prove to be a hard pill to swallow for Conservatives. They were hoping to not only be rid of Senator Dodd, but to finally have a Conservative voice in the state.

This move will also bring Senator Joe Lieberman to the position of the senior Senator of Connecticut. Some would have been glad for him but many like myself have a bad taste in my mouth concerning Lieberman since he voted for cloture of the Senate Healthcare bill. If he had only voted NO, we wouldn’t be discussing the legislation anymore.

Knowing that conservatives can’t count on Joe Lieberman in the next round of votes on the healthcare legislation, the prospects for Connecticut as well as our nation seem gloomy.

Once the Senate passed the legislation for healthcare reform with a 60-39 vote, it was thought that the next steps would consist of the House revising their bill and the Senate, theirs. But it seems now that Congress has decided to fast track the process by skipping the formal conference committee and decided to just take the Senate bill, amend it, and send it back to the Senate for passage.

Besides skipping the conference committee, they are also skipping having the Republicans involved in the amending process, again showing how the Democrats continue to do everything in total secrecy. So much for bringing all parties together.

So the final bill could actually look quite different than the one that was passed on Christmas Eve. So the question comes, will the RINOs who voted for the Bill in their respective Chambers, vote for this bill? Will the Blue Dogs stick to their ground and vote against it? Now that elections are looming this year, will they be willing to sacrifice their political careers?

Congress is trying to get this piece of legislation passed before Obama’s State of the Union speech so he can have something to gloat about. Hopefully, some congressmen and women with ethics and a backbone will bring this bill to its deserved death before then.

Now that Obama has the liberals and the Unions supporting him in the passage of the healthcare bill, is he actually willing to lose them in the home stretch by considering taxing the Cadillac Health Plans? That’s essentially what he’s risking by putting the idea on the table. In fact, he’s finding that if he does not tax those plans, that he can’t pay for this expensive boondoggle.

President Barack Obama signaled to House Democratic leaders Wednesday that they’ll have to drop their opposition to taxing high-end health insurance plans to pay for health coverage for millions of uninsured Americans. In a meeting at the White House, Obama expressed his preference for the insurance tax contained in the Senate’s health overhaul bill, but largely opposed by House Democrats and organized labor, Democratic aides said. The aides spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting was private. Yahoo

Dennis Revera, SEIU’s point man, has been very adament concerning the talk about taxation of their plans since the concept was brought up this past summer.

Unions adamantly oppose the tax because it could affect many of their members. Several have high-cost insurance plans because they either work in dangerous professions requiring more and costlier coverage or they have negotiated for better benefits with their employers The Hill

Obama’s come along way with the unions supporting him up to this point. But if Obama pushes this idea, could he lose support for the healthcare bill and any future support? Would he throw the unions under the bus to get this legislation passed? Heck, he’d throw his kids under that bus in order to have his legacy consist of national healthcare.

Transcript:

Finally some have suggested that the events on Christmas Day should cause us to revisit the decision to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. So let me be clear.

It was always our intent to transfer detainees, to other countries, only under conditions that provide assurances that our security is being protected. With respect to Yemen in particular, there is an ongoing security situation which we have been confronting for some time, along with our Yemeni partner.

Given the unsettled situation, I’ve spoken to the attorney general. And we’ve agreed that we will not be transferring additional detainees back to Yemen at this time.

But make no mistake. We will close Guantanamo prison, which has damaged our national security interests and become a tremendous recruiting tool for al Qaeda.

In fact, that was an explicit rationale for the formation of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

And as I’ve always said, we will do so — we will close the prison in a manner that keeps the American people safe and secure.

Obama might have been a constitutional lawyer, but he definitely is clueless when it comes to history.

Even Bruce Reidel, former CIA official and al Qaeda expert stated :

Yemen has been a safe haven and stronghold of al Qaeda since the late 1990s. Yemen is where Osama Bin Laden’s family originates from, in the southwestern part of the country. ABC

So once more, this is another “blame George Bush” line. When will Obama start to take responsibility for his own actions?

Back in 2007 Fox did a story on Islamberg,a mysterious 70 acrre compound with more than 100 Muslims living there.

There were rumors of a radical cleric with terrorist ties. Shots could be heard from the compound. And any approach by outsiders were met with a barrel of a rifle in the face of the intruder. But US investigators wouldn’t confirm or deny if any investigations were being done on this group.

Suddenly three years later, the place is barren. No children play in the courtyard of the school. No armed guards stand at the gate. The place is deserted. Where did they all go?

That should concern people since that’s where a great deal of fighting has occurred. Al Qaeda has found a new strength in that region…..and it looks like some of their reinforcements might have come from Islamberg, New York.

But the MSM isn’t reporting this. Why?

Who else would recognize the rise of socialism but one who has lived through it himself? Lt. General Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest-ranking Soviet and Eastern Bloc Intelligence Official ever to defect to America (in 1978) stated recently:

“Alas, now the virus of Marxism with its fatal governmental takeovers has started infecting our shores. If the Democratic Party has its way, it will transform the United States into a socialist country in all but name. The 2010 elections could prevent that catastrophe from happening. Christian News Wire
