C-Span is challenging Obama to have the healthcare debate done on an open forum of C-Span, requesting transparency of the legislation process of the largest bill ever decided by Congress. Congress balked back saying that the process has already been very open. In fact, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated:

Pelosi said Congress had been transparent throughout the process.
 
“There has never been a more open process for any piece of legislation,” Pelosi said at a press conference.  The Hill

Did she really say that with a straight face? Must be the botox!

Who here really thinks the entire healthcare process has been done in an open forum? Who thinks that the Democrats have allowed the Republicans in the negotiations process?

House and Senate Democrats intend to bypass traditional procedures when they negotiate a final compromise on health care legislation, officials said Monday, a move that will exclude Republican lawmakers and reduce their ability to delay or force politically troubling votes in both houses. AP

Can’t get any more open than that, right Nancy? Love that transparency.

Wasn’t it just the other day that the Obama White House was saying that they would continue sending Yemen detainees at Gitmo back to their homeland? Yup, sure enough.

John Brennan, the assistant to the president for homeland security and counter-terrorism, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the failed Christmas Day terror attack on a U.S. airliner doesn’t change the plan to close the Guantanamo facility CNN

So which spawn of Satan finally woke up and realized that just maybe sending the detainees back to Yemen ( which seems also to be the link with the Christmas Day bomber aka Underwear Bomber) was not a good idea?

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday. Ninety detainees in Gitmo are from Yemen, which is combating a resurgent Al Qaeda. (Snip) ‘While we remain committed to closing the detention facility, the determination has been made that right now any additional transfers to Yemen is not a good idea.” FOX

No kidding, Sherlock! Really? Not a good idea? Wow what a brilliant concept! How come no one else didn’t think of that? Oh wait! They did! It’s called REPUBLICANS!

On Tuesday, as The Hill reports, Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) sent a letter to President Obama asking him not to transfer detainees to Yemen. Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.), meanwhile, said doing so “threatens the safety and security of the U.S. people.” Sen. Kit Bond (R-Mo.) has said the administration should “rethink” the policy CBS

But the Obama administration kept their backs up against the wall until some Democrats also echoed the same concerns.

When  is this administration going to do things because it’s right to do them until waiting for politics to control the situation?

Well, isn’t that what Obama promised?

Candidate Barack Obama: “When I’m elected president you’re going to see this health care legislation written in the open. It’s going to be on C-SPAN, and you’ll be able to see all the different people arguing to see whether they’re on your side or they’re on the side of the drug companies and the insurance companies and so on. But you’ll be able to see that process on C-SPAN.”

Well, it looks like C-Span hasn’t forgotten that promise either. They’re asking for Obama to get the legislation out of the closet and in front of the viewing audience. But even Congress is balking at the idea instead wanting to keep negotiations only between the Democrats, leaving out the Republicans

Congressional leaders, however, reportedly are expected to bypass the traditional conference committee process, in which lawmakers from both parties and chambers meet to reconcile differences between the House and Senate versions of a bill. Instead, The Associated Press reports that top Democrats at the House, Senate and White House will figure out the final product in three-way talks before sending it back to both chambers for a final vote. So what happened to Congress’s working together and Obama’s “bringing parties together?” Folks, if you don’t realize it by now,  Obama and Congress has made no attempt for bi-partisanship and they’re not about to start now. Thus you will not be seeing the negotiation process on the TV screen in your living room any time soon.

You would have thought that the disaster averted on Christmas Day of Flight 253 would have jogged some screws loose in the head of Obama. You would have thought that he would have suddenly realized that if he didn’t think we were at war against terrorism, that at least he would realize the terrorists were at war with us.

But no, Obama still is putting terrorism on the same level as if we had arrested some gang member of the Latin Kings. Instead of slapping the label of enemy combatant on the back of the would-be bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, will be tried in a civil court.

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Brennan was asked why the Obama administration did not choose to treat Abdulmutallab as an enemy combatant. “He was arrested on U.S. soil,” Brennan answered. “The Department of Justice makes that determination about what is the best tool to use.” Washington Examiner

Heck, they even Mirandized him as a common criminal. And their precedent is that  Richard Reid, Zacarias Moussaoui, Jose Padilla were tried in the criminal system. But we didn’t agree with that as well! These TERRORISTS! Yes, I said it, TERRORISTS are NOT criminals who should be allowed to reap the benefits of  the American justice system.

Keep up with this attitude of being soft on terrorism, something will happen to this country which will make 9-11 pale in comparison. America, we need to wake up!

When will the Obama administration learn to take responsibilities for their own actions? This is getting really old  really fast. A terrorist attack was thwarted……and the whole plot was blamed on Bush.

Dan Pfeiffer, White House Communications Director, took to the official White House blog Wednesday to post a response to critics of Barack Obama and his handling of counterterrorism. Pfeiffer believes that the intelligence failure that led to the failed bombing on Christmas day — nearly a year into Obama’s presidency — can be blamed on a war launched almost seven years ago in Iraq.  Weekly Standard

So Pfiefer thinks if we never went into Iraq that we’d never been attacked? So how does he explain 9-11? Will the absurdity ever cease with this administration?

Not necessarily. The House bill was won by a vote of  220-215 with some Republicans on board. The Senate won 60-39, with not a single Republican voting for it.

This time around the House cannot look forward to having Republicans on board. In fact, they might not even be able to count on the Blue Dogs this time. Reason? The political season has started and the entire House is up for re-election. The Congressmen (women) have heard the outcry from their districts and realize that this animosity is not about to go away. They’re realizing they are in the fight for their political life and now they have to decide what’s more important — a healthcare bill that the majority of people do not want or another season in office.

This is what the politicians are up against and November really isn’t that far away.

It seems like the Democrats have heard the tolling of the death knoll and are deciding against running against Republicans in some states.

State Sen. Laura Kelly (D) just announced her withdrawal from the race to face Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-Kan.). She becomes the fifth formidable recruit to bow out in recent weeks. The Hill

But what’s intriquing was Kelly’s reasoning behind withdrawing

“I have been forced to make a decision between honoring the pledge I made to the people in my Senate district and my firm conviction that the people of the 2nd congressional district deserve a truly independent voice in Congress”

Translation: She’s a Party hack! And she knew that the people in Kansas was going to send her home packing.

As liberal as some Americans are, they’re seeing through the garbage they’ve been seeing the past months with the healthcare bill. They’ve seen that in spite of the public’s opposition to Obamacare, that their own Senators and Representatives have continually given them the “middle finger.” So now those “independent” voices are returning the same gesture.
