Hey everybody!

Alright! This is what I was looking to do. If I have all the fog machines, strobe lights and props that we will need, even the actors set up. Does anyone know if there are ANY laws against this? Or any restrictions or curfews I should know more? :?

With all the help, really very much appreciated it! :D

I never thought of this. I don't know. But people might get upset if the fog from your fog machine goes all over the neighborhood. You should look up the laws instead of asking people.

well, that depends on what kinda fog machine you have and if it really is that strong cause i only have a couple of cheap ones.... but the curfew here is 11 for kids without a parent supervision... but thats only for if there walking outside alone... something like that,,, the only thing i would worry about is the noise,, if its way to noisey then some of the nieghbors may complain... if you have nice neightbors then just tell them you will be having a party that night and you'll keep it as quiet as you can..

The answer to your question depends on several variables. Firstly, are you planning on having loud music and big crowds? If so, you'll want to check out your county's laws on disturbing the peace and crowd control for events. You may want to speak with local law enforcement about these regulation and let them know about your event in advance.

As for fog machines, if you're going to have lots of fog, you might want to notify your neighbors and local fire department. If you live in the city, you might also want to check pollution regulations. If it's a high pollution day, you won't want to run them a lot. Check with your local Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) representative.

The flashing lights, I think that would fall under police jurisdiction. I'd check with local law enforcement about regulations.

You might also wish to talk with your HOA (if you have one) or your neighbors to see what's community-acceptable for your haunt.

Thanks all for the tips!

I will check with my local law enforcement and see what happens. I don't live in the city, just outside of the city. I'm pretty about an half mile away from the beach, some woods outside... Mostly houses around here on the street where I live... So, if there are any more information here, please feel free to post any comments ;)

As for my fog machines, both are small size (not too much smoke) - they're cheaper - but look good! 8)
Well, not so sure about lights, I'll check that out. And, as of my haunt actors, I better talk to them about making scary the kids and adults too - but no touching, you know? No grabbing or pulling on them. Just jumping on them and for making noise such as screaming, yelling, I have to check that out too! :D

I would assume that it would all come down to disturbing the peace, which seems to be a law that applies everywhere in the country. I don't think the cops roam the streets looking for decorations that might cause complaints or break any specific laws. I think that it all comes down to if your neighbors are bothered by any of your decorations or sounds. If someone in the neighborhood throws a party, plays their music loudly or whatever, and it bothers someone, they usually just call up the police department and complain. So as long as your neighbors don't mind what you are doing, I think anything is fair game.
