How did you come by your own screen name?


Some are obvious, I've been donw some haunts before. This year will be my big haunt, I hope so!

Others are more difficult to decipher, so you can tell us what your screen name means and how you thought of it?

We try to get to know everyone with pics and such, but knowing how you came up with your name will help each of us to know each other a little better.

I pretty much just put in the first thing that came to my head when I was signing up.

Mines pretty self explanatory but obviously i'm a huge fan of Micheal Myers and the halloween series films.

I started out with butterflywings and decided that wasn't halloweeeny and went with batwings instead.

Ok, about me, why "Haunt Master"? ok because I am known as the Haunter, who do knows news, ghost stories, horror films, haunted places and attractions, etc. I really should to have chosen to be Grim Reaper.

It was just a little play on words. I'm a Jersey Girl - born and raised. I couldn't think of anything else either.

Well when I first registered I spent a few minutes trying to think of a name. Then I remembered, the night before we were watching my brother-in-law's daughter while him & his wife went out and she wanted to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, which I enjoyed, I admit it. One of the characters in the movie was known as the Pumpkin King, so I thought that would be a good Halloween name, so I toke it.

it's my actual name. although i've been thinking of changing it to something a bit more festive. any suggestions?

That would be great if you want to change your own screen name. What is the best name do you desire to change it? You make your own choice... what would you like to be? What kind of creature or monster do you like? You can make your own idea of what you want to change your name. You can always send a PM to HalloweenCom and ask him to change your name if you wish.

I just wanted to use the first really cool name I could think of. And I love zombies!!

Oh this ones EASY! Well I saw this website and I remembered that my Dad ALWAYS calls me Halloween_girl.

The short answer is:
It's the name I use around the internet at the time I signed up.

The long answer is:
It's a name I made up based on a combination of a gemstone with a meaning/magical properties I felt was appropriate (though I don't believe in it) and my favourite element, fire... which I've emphasized symbolically as a candle wick, or "wik" in this case. The gemstone is Jade. There are some meanings for Jade found here

Ironically enough, I hate diamonds. They're treated as something that's rare, but they're not. Sapphires, rubies, emeralds, etc are less abundant than diamonds. Yet, diamonds are talked about so frequently.

I do like the lore that surrounds gemstones. That something earthy could contain magical properties is a fun idea. Likewise, I enjoy reading similar lore on herbs and other things. I actually have an herb chart I bought in Salem that hangs on my wall... and no, I'm not wiccan or pagen. I just like the lore.
