Caller I.D. Spoofing!

Please help me... I've been SPOOFED!

There is a new EVIL application running around these days for the iPhone, it's called "Caller I.D. Spoofing". Last nite my wife and I received seperate calls from my brother as a prank... he was using this program on his iPhone that allows the caller to use whatever phone number for caller i.d. they choose and they allow you to change your voice. This means when you receive a call from say.... the police station and hear a voice say you have never heard before it could have be a prank. I SCARY APPLICATION... LMFAO! I think someone's gonna get into a heap of trouble with this one!

i personally LOVE this app (i have it) but i do see where it could be dangerous if played right.. i usually run this app on my family lol and friends i don't want calling me back

I presume it is jailbroken because I don't think that is in the App Store?

i had a friend who already had it send it to me.. i haven't even looked in the app store for it. and yes, he got his phone unlocked for t mobile so its probably not in the store lol

My cousin told me that would be VERY illegal! He can only imagine the things people could do with this.... Scary!

This is nothing new, and not limited to iPhone systems. Ever get a telemarketing call from 000-000-0000???

But I agree, it sucks to be on the receiving end.

well the difference between this iPhone app and the telemarketing one is that on the iPhone app, you can choose what number appears on their caller ID and when they hit return call, it actually dials THAT number!! i've played some devilish pranks

I have mine on t-mobile also, but I got it from Italy where they are all unlocked so it is factory unlocked (vs jail broken). Sounds like an interesting app.

yea there's a place here in our town that un locks phones and can get dang near any app
