Well, yes, technically a big enough block of ballistics gel would stop a bullet, the same way that fifteen watermelons lined up in a row, or the belly blubber of a morbidly obese woman would stop a bullet. That's just a matter of physics. But if you are looking to prevent a bullet from entering your body, the least practical options would seem to be hiding behind a cartload of watermelons, or gaining six hundred pounds, or carrying around a three foot square block of ballistics gel as a shield.

My cousin has been shot while wearing a ballistic vest.... HOLY JEEZ! THat hurt!!!!

The bullet lodges in the vest material, but the kinetic engery continues on and bruises the <deleted> outta ya -- if the weapon is fired close enough or is of a large caliuber - ribs may be broken.

I bet he was glad he didn't have to rely on breast implants!
